Our bells are currently silenced due to the limits on movement, however a short recording can be heard here: Bells on Sunday

St Michael's Church is not only a visible presence in the Old Town, but an audible one too. We are one of only seven churches in the Diocese with ten bells. Eight of our bells were cast in 1923, with a further two added in 1947 from bell metal salvaged from Holyrood Church.

Sunday morning ringing takes place in rotation at one of three churches in the City at 9.45am and practices are held on a Monday at 7.30pm at one of the city churches.

For full information about bellringing, please see the Southampton City Ringers website which tells you when our bells can be heard.

All requests for bell ringing (weddings, funerals, etc) should be made in the first instance to the clergy.
