The 18th to 24th May is Mental Health Awareness week. This letter has been sent to Clergy within the Diocese but we felt the guidance is applicable to all.

Easter Day compilation - Sung by Cantores Michaelis

In the battle against the coronavirus, the Prime Minister has announced the closure of all places of worship, and specifically mentioned weddings and baptisms as not being allowed. St Michael’s must comply with this direction – and so has to remain closed until such time as the injunction is lifted.

In consultation with our Director of Music, who networked tirelessly to craft the concert series, the Vicar and Standing Committee have decided that it is no longer viable to continue with these concerts due to the uncertainties created by Covid-19, including enforced social distancing and the actual closure of St Michael’s. We all very much regret this decision, which includes the ‘grand finale concert’ on Saturday 3 October.
We very much hope and pray that St Michael’s will be open to enable us to celebrate the Patronal Festival on Sunday 4 October

A prayer for all those affected by coronavirus

Keep us, good Lord,

under the shadow of your mercy.

Sustain and support the anxious,

be with those who care for the sick,

and lift up all who are brought low;

that we may find comfort

knowing that nothing can separate us from your love

in Christ Jesus our Lord.

During this time, we will instead share Prayers, Readings and News via email, this website ansocial media. This weeks News and Service Sheet can be found here.
